Location of Hyogo and Kobe
Japan stretches over approximately 3,000 km from east to west, north to south, but Hyogo and Kobe are located approximately 600 km west of Tokyo, the capital of Japan, almost in the center of the country, making them easy to reach by land or air.The prefecture has an extensive rail and expressway network, and it is only about 20 minutes by conventional train to Osaka, Japan's second largest city. In addition, the Shinkansen stops in Kobe, Akashi, Himeji, and Aioi within the prefecture, and it takes about 160 minutes to get from Kobe to Tokyo by Shinkansen.
There are also four airports in the region, including Kansai International Airport, and Kobe Airport is connected to Tokyo (Haneda Airport) in approximately 70 minutes by air.
Furthermore, expressways such as the Chugoku Expressway and the Sanyo Expressway directly connect the prefecture to the Chugoku and Shikoku regions, forming a major economic zone.
