Disaster prevention and safety city

A city with advanced disaster prevention capabilities, leveraging its experience of earthquake disasters

Hyogo and Kobe, which experienced the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake in 1995, have been working towards "creative reconstruction" by creating a disaster-resistant city where people can live safely. Currently, the area is home to institutions such as the Disaster Reduction and Human Renovation Institution and the Asian Disaster Reduction Center, and has also become a hub for disseminating disaster prevention and mitigation information to the world.
Hyogo and Kobe are promoting the creation of safe and secure communities and disaster-mitigating urban development, which can reduce the risk of external instability.
