Overview of Hyogo-Kobe
Hyogo Prefecture is located almost in the center of the Japanese archipelago, bordering Osaka Prefecture and Kyoto Prefecture to the east, and Okayama Prefecture and Tottori Prefecture to the west. It is also the only prefecture facing three seas: the Sea of Japan to the north, and the Seto Inland Sea and the Pacific Ocean to the south. It faces Tokushima Prefecture and Wakayama Prefecture across from Awaji Island, which lies in the Seto Inland Sea.The 135th meridian east, which determines Japan's standard time, runs from Awaji City on Awaji Island, through Akashi City, Nishiwaki City, and other cities, all the way to Toyooka City in the north.
Hyogo Prefecture is made up of 29 cities and 12 towns, and its prefectural capital is Kobe City, which has developed as an international trading port. Because it is made up of blocks with different climates, geographical features, and cultural and historical characteristics, it is also said to be a miniature version of Japan.
In terms of industry, the coastal areas of Hanshin and Harima form a national production base, and with its proximity to the expressway network, the ports of Kobe and Osaka, and Kansai International Airport, it also plays a role as a logistics hub.
