■On Monday, September 28th, starting at 4pm, we will be holding a webinar entitled "UNOPS and Startups' Initiatives for the SDGs - Approaching Global Issues from Hyogo Prefecture and Kobe City." We will be welcoming guests UNOPS, the United Nations project services agency based in Kobe, and two global startups active in Hyogo and Kobe! Please feel free to join us!
[Webinar purpose]
UNOPS will open Asia's first Global Innovation Center in Kobe in the fall of 2020. The center will bring together selected startups from Japan and overseas, large corporations, local governments, and the United Nations to work on solving SDG problems through innovation.
Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture, has always been a city that has put effort into building a startup ecosystem and has created an environment where startups can thrive globally. With UNOPS coming to Kobe, there are high hopes that even more exciting collaborations will be born.
In addition to UNOPS, this webinar will feature speakers from Sagri Inc. (headquarters: Tamba City), which is using agritech to expand its activities not only in Japan but also in India, and Baridi Baridi Inc. (headquarters: Kobe City), a spin-off of Daikin Industries that provides air conditioner subscription services in Africa. They will each share their perspectives on how they are addressing global SDG issues and developing their business from the local locations of Hyogo and Kobe. Officials from Hyogo Prefecture and Kobe City will also participate and introduce the business support menu available in Hyogo and Kobe.
