Supporting information technology through the development of the "Hyogo Information Highway."Hyogo Prefecture has a well-developed land, sea and air transportation network, including expressways, the Hanshin Port, an international strategic container port, and Kobe Airport, making it a transportation hub connecting Japan and overseas.
In terms of roads, the development of eight trunk road linking axes, four running east-west and four running north-south, is being promoted.
In terms of maritime transportation, Kobe has some of the nation's leading port facilities, including Kobe Port, which has been designated as an international container strategic port. In terms of air transportation, there are three airports: Kobe Airport (Chuo Ward, Kobe City), Osaka International Airport (Itami City, Hyogo Prefecture), and Kansai International Airport (Izumisano City, Osaka Prefecture), which connect the city to major cities around the world and major cities within Japan.
The Hyogo Information Highway, a high-speed communications network infrastructure linking the entire prefecture, is being developed to support industrial use and regional informatization.
In 2021, in addition to increasing the communication capacity of the Hyogo Information Highway, we will build the "Hyogo Information Super Highway" that connects it to Tokyo and provide it to private businesses free of charge in order to attract businesses.
